What to Bring to Treatment: Women’s Center

Please bring all your items in trash bags. We do not allow suitcases or bags in our facility. All your belongings will be searched, and clothes will be run through the dryer. To expedite the process, please label your belongings with your first and last names.
If anything is brought to our facility that is not allowed, we will ask that a family member take it back home. If you have any questions about the list, please call us at 513-575-0968.

Do Bring

  • Insurance card and photo ID
  • 10 pairs of pants/10 tops/5 undershirts (tank tops)
    • Please bring clothing appropriate for the season. We are a 90-180-day program and understand that seasons change. You will be allowed to swap out clothes during your stay in treatment.
  • 2 sweaters/hoodies and 1 jacket
  • 2 pairs of shoes (no slippers, no high heels)
  • Undergarments (bras/underwear/socks)
  • 2 sets of pajamas
  • Makeup (only essentials; no huge makeup boxes)
  • Blow drier/curling iron/hair straightener/brush
  • Jewelry (Please be aware that we are not responsible for anything that is lost or stolen.)
  • Hygiene products – ALL HYGIENE PRODUCTS MUST BE ALCOHOL-FREE 
    • Shampoo/conditioner/body wash/loofah/shower shoes (flip-flops) You may bring a plastic shower caddy- no closed toiletry bags
    • Toothbrush and toothpaste/mouthwash (ALCOHOL-FREE)
    • Deodorant
    • Tampons/pads
    • Nail clippers/nail file
    • Razors (must be new)
    • Lotion
    • Sunscreen
  • 2 towels and 2 washcloths
  • OTC medication (must be new and unopened) and prescribed medications including refills (labeled in correct bottle)
  • Alarm clock
  • iPod/MP3 player (cannot have camera/Internet capabilities) and headphones
  • Cigarettes (New / Unopened packs) and lighters
    • You are allowed 12 cigarettes a day at ARC. 5 packs of cigarettes will get you through one week. You may bring a carton if you wish.
  • 12-pack of soda/water/Gatorade/iced tea/juice boxes (ONLY ONE)
  • Clear plastic water bottle ( A water cooler is located in the facility)
  • 1 bag of candy, individually wrapped (1 lb. or less)
    • Hard candy (lollipops, mints, Jolly Ranchers, etc.)
    • Chocolate (“fun size”/small – think Halloween candy)
    • Gum
  • Hard candy (lollipops, mints, Jolly Ranchers, etc.)
  • $10 in singles or quarters for vending machine
    • ARC provides all food for clients. Vending machine money is optional and not necessary for treatment or daily needs.
  • Stamps/Envelopes
  • Pictures (without frame)
  • Art supplies (basics)
    • Markers, glue, colored pencils, crayons, etc.
  • Books
    • Coloring books
    • Bible
    • AA/NA books
    • Casual reads (appropriate subject matter)
    • Magazines (remove subject matter with removed addresses)

Do NOT Bring

  • Pillows/blankets/sheets
  • Cell phones
  • Bags/suitcases/purses/backpacks
  • Laptop/iPad
  • Automobiles
  • Animals, includes live and stuffed
  • Candles/incense/oils
  • Body spray/perfume
  • Aerosol sprays
  • Musical instruments
  • Weapons
  • Energy drinks
  • E-cigarettes, chewing tobacco or rolled cigarettes
  • Scissors
  • Paint
  • Soft chewy candy (Sour Patch Kids, Skittles, Starburst, etc.)
  • Medications that are painkillers, ointments, benzodiazepines or sleeping pills

Families May Bring

Family group starts at 9 a.m. every Saturday, and you must show a valid ID. Drop-offs are on Saturday only, from noon-3 p.m. The following items DO NOT count as one of the five items you may bring when you visit:

  • Soda/water/Gatorade/iced tea/juice boxes (12-PACK ONLY)
  • Cigarettes
  • Candy
  • Tampons/pads
  • Money (No more than $10)
